What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They are used to remember things like whether you're logged in or what language you prefer.
What cookies does Secondoctor use?
We use only the minimum cookies needed to operate the platform. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the platform to work. You cannot disable them without breaking core functionality.
secondoctor_session— keeps you logged in. Expires when you close your browser or log out. HttpOnly, Secure (in production), SameSite=Lax.
Functional cookies
These remember your preferences. You can clear them at any time.
secondoctor_lang— remembers your preferred language. Expires after 1 year.
Third-party cookies
When you use certain features, third-party services may set their own cookies:
- Stripe (payment processing) — sets cookies needed for fraud prevention during checkout. See Stripe's cookie policy.
- Video consultation provider (Daily.co or equivalent) — sets cookies during video consultations for session management.
How to control cookies
You can clear cookies and block them in your browser settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in.
What about local storage?
We do not currently use browser local storage (localStorage or sessionStorage) on the platform. If this changes, we'll update this policy.
