1. Welcome
These terms govern your use of Secondoctor ("the platform", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform.
2. What Secondoctor is — and isn't
We are: an online platform that connects patients with verified medical specialists for second-opinion consultations.
We are not: a medical provider ourselves. We do not employ the doctors on the platform — they are independent practitioners. We do not provide emergency care, prescriptions, or replace your treating physician.
Important: consultations on Secondoctor are informational. They are not a substitute for in-person medical care, and decisions about your treatment should always be made in consultation with your local treating physician who knows your full case history.
3. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account (or have a parent/guardian create one on your behalf if you are under 18)
- You must provide accurate information when creating your account
- You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account
- Doctors must hold a valid, unrestricted medical license and pass our verification process before consulting on the platform
4. Booking and consultations
- When you book a consultation, you authorize a charge to your payment method for the consultation price
- Charges are completed when the consultation is confirmed by the doctor
- If you cancel more than 24 hours before the consultation, no charge is made
- If a doctor cancels or doesn't show up, you receive an automatic full refund
- Consultations typically last 30 minutes — the exact duration is shown on the doctor's profile
- The doctor will deliver a written second-opinion report typically within 1–3 business days after the consultation
5. Acceptable use
You agree NOT to:
- Use the platform for emergency medical situations
- Provide false information about yourself or your medical situation
- Record consultations without the doctor's explicit consent
- Share another user's information without their permission
- Attempt to access another user's account
- Use the platform for illegal purposes
- Submit content that is abusive, threatening, or defamatory
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or attack the platform
- Bypass platform fees by arranging payment outside the platform with a doctor
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.
6. Refunds
- Automatic full refund: doctor no-show, platform technical issue, cancellation more than 24 hours before consultation
- Reviewed case-by-case: partial completion, dissatisfaction with the report, cancellation within 24 hours
- Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of the consultation
7. The role of doctors on the platform
- Doctors on Secondoctor are independent professionals, not employees of Secondoctor
- The medical advice they provide is their own; Secondoctor does not direct, endorse, or warrant any specific medical opinion
- Doctors are responsible for the accuracy and quality of their consultations
- Each doctor is licensed in specific jurisdictions and may not be able to prescribe or take over your care across borders
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Secondoctor's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the platform is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months prior to the claim. We are not liable for:
- Medical decisions you make based on a consultation
- Disagreements between you and a doctor about treatment
- Outcomes of any medical procedure or treatment
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
This does not limit liability for things that cannot be limited by law (e.g., death or personal injury caused by negligence in jurisdictions where that limitation is invalid).
9. Termination
You can close your account at any time from your settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or for legal/safety reasons. On termination, your data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced via email and on-platform at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by [JURISDICTION TO BE DETERMINED BY LEGAL COUNSEL — likely Tunisia or wherever Secondoctor is incorporated]. Disputes will be resolved through [arbitration or court process — also for legal counsel to specify].
