Step by step

For patients

  1. 1

    Browse verified specialists

Filter by specialty, language, price, and availability. Every doctor on the platform has been verified — medical license checked with their national board, ID confirmed, and credentials reviewed by our medical advisory team.

  2. 2

Book a time that works for you

Pick a slot from the doctor's real-time calendar. Most consultations happen within 48 hours, and many specialists offer same-day appointments. You pay only when the consultation is confirmed — no upfront charges.

  3. 3

    Share your case securely

Upload your scans, lab reports, and any previous diagnoses. Add a description of your case in your own words. Everything you share is encrypted, accessible only to the doctor you booked, and never sold or shared with third parties.

  4. 4

Consult, then receive your written report

Meet the specialist via secure video call (typically 30 minutes). Afterwards, they write a detailed second-opinion report you can download and share with your treating physician. Follow-up questions are included for 7 days after your consultation.

What you receive

A live conversation

30 minutes with the specialist via encrypted video, with screen sharing for medical images. Translation available where the doctor speaks your language.

A written second-opinion report

A formal document summarising the doctor's assessment, agreement or disagreement with prior recommendations, and any suggested next steps. Yours to share with your treating physician.

7 days of follow-up

Ask clarifying questions about your report via secure messaging for a full week after your consultation. For deeper follow-ups, you can always book another session.

What Secondoctor is not

We want to be clear about our role so you can use the platform well.

Not a replacement for your doctor

A second opinion is information, not a prescription. Decisions about your treatment are made by you and your treating physician, who knows your full case history.

Not for emergencies

If you're experiencing a medical emergency, please call your local emergency services immediately. Online consultations are not designed for urgent care.

Not for prescriptions

Our specialists provide opinions, not prescriptions. Whether a doctor can prescribe across borders depends on their licensing — most cannot. Your treating physician is the right person for prescriptions.
