Most specialists are limited to patients who can travel to their clinic. Secondoctor opens you to patients globally — the engineer in Dubai considering surgery in London can talk to you in Paris.
Fair, transparent pay
You set your consultation price. We take 20% to cover platform costs, payment processing, verification, and patient support. The rest is yours. Weekly payouts via Stripe Connect to your bank account.

We verify your license with the relevant national medical board, check your credentials, and arrange a brief interview with our medical advisory team. Usually completed within 7 business days.

Patients book directly into your calendar. Before each call, you receive their case description and uploaded records. You consult via secure video, then write a brief second-opinion report. Payment hits your account weekly.
Who can join
We accept specialists who meet all of the following:
- Hold a valid, unrestricted medical license in at least one country
- Completed specialty training (board certification or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years post-training experience
- Clean disciplinary record
- Comfortable consulting in English (additional languages welcome)
- Reliable internet connection for video consultations
We also welcome qualified homeopathy practitioners who meet equivalent professional standards in their jurisdiction.
Doctor FAQ
How much time does this take per week?
Entirely up to you. Some specialists do 1–2 consultations per week as a side practice; others build a substantial weekly volume. You set your availability and can change it at any time.
How do I get paid?
Stripe Connect handles payouts. After each consultation is completed, the patient's payment (less our 20% commission) is held briefly for any dispute window, then released to your Stripe Connect balance. Payouts to your bank account happen weekly.
Can I prescribe through the platform?
No. Cross-border prescribing is legally complex and varies by jurisdiction. Patients keep their treating physician at home; you provide an opinion they bring back. This actually simplifies your liability significantly.
What if I want to leave?
Pause your profile at any time from your dashboard — new bookings stop immediately. Existing booked consultations should be honored. To fully close your account, contact support; we'll handle the rest.
Who handles taxes?
You do. Stripe Connect provides annual earnings reports you can use for tax purposes. We are not your employer — you are an independent practitioner using the platform.
